#PrideMonth2021

PrideMonth2021 is our Hashtag of the Week. Why?

Every year since 1969, the world has commemorated LGBTQ+ activism and cultural and professional achievements during the month of June. Pride is celebrated in June because the famous Stonewall Inn Uprising, which kicked off the first major demonstrations for gay rights in America, occurred in June 1969 in New York City.

The movement has grown to recognize and celebrate the rights of the LGBTQ+ community at large. This includes all those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, non-binary, or asexual, plus all other sexual orientations and genders.

Openly gay leaders and company CEOs are making huge inroads in the world of work. They provide wonderful role models for new generations. The pride movement has grown to recognize and celebrate the rights of the LGBTQ+ community at large and helps to enforce much-needed workplace diversity and inclusion.
