In our first article, we were met with some positive cybersecurity news. With the cybersecurity business expanding exponentially, as of May 2021 there were about 465,000 open positions in cybersecurity nationwide in the US. Most of the job openings are in California, Florida, Texas and Virginia--hello sunshine! You don’t always need a full degree for these positions either, just the proper certification. Our second article highlights our extreme password dependence as a society. With the average employee having to deal with almost 200 credentials and developing a serious case of password fatigue, it’s very easy for ransomware or phishing attacks to be successful. To put it in perspective 80% of data breaches are password related, and this number would become almost negligible in a passwordless reality. We need an urgent change in regards to data protection. Luckily, with advances in biometrics and MFA, a passwordless future isn’t far off. Check out our blog here.
