More than 25 million people in California are under red flag warnings as firefighters continue to battle blazes throughout the state.
About 2,000 people were ordered to evacuate in Sonoma County after the Kincade Fire started. PG&E said a nearby transmission tower failed just a few minutes beforehand.
The utility, criticized for a botched execution of blackouts two weeks ago, said it was acting to prevent wildfires caused by its equipment.

At least six homes were destroyed in California, no immediate injuries were reported.
